LOCAL ACTIVISTS (DIFFERENT POLITICAL PARTIES) COME TOGETHER TO CALL FOR A “KIDDERMINSTER HOSPITAL ALLIANCE” TO BE FORMED
The health services provided at Kidderminster Hospital are once again under threat and subject to a review. It is crucial we do not lose the hospital or any of its services.
WHY IS KIDDERMINSTER HOSPITAL IMPORTANT?
It should be noted that the excellent services at Kidderminster are there as a result of a hard fought campaign against downsizing over a decade ago by a wide variety of individuals and organisations who deserve credit and recognition for their achievement. Given that the treatment centre is rightly extolled on the NHS’s own website as new, cancellation and infection free, it is clearly an important and valuable asset not just for the district, but for the county as a whole. It should therefore remain as a key component of the acute hospitals provision in our county.
AIMS – PROTECTING KIDDERMINSTER HOSPITAL:
To ensure that this asset remains, we believe that work needs to starts now on a campaign to keep our hospital, protect its services, and even seek to enhance those services. This is because delay is potentially costly and it is vital that at this early stage we shape opinion, influence the consultation process to positively affect the models on offer, and in-turn, do our best to achieve our goal of protecting and enhancing Kidderminster Hospital services
JOIN THE ALLIANCE:
We are therefore openly asking community groups, other interest and friends action groups, ALL the people of Wyre Forest, political parties and our MP, to come together for the good of our district and join our call to set up a truly independent and apolitical “Kidderminster Hospital Alliance”.
The signatories of this statement are happy to facilitate the setting up of this Alliance and support it to become self-reliant in order to achieve its aim.
In the meantime, we will work on organising a petition to meet the Alliance’s general aims, plan awareness events in our 3 towns, investigate social network and other tools to further the cause of this campaign using all means at our disposal. It is our intention to communicate with as many people as possible to spread this important message and to bring people onboard.
